My dear husband bought me a Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii for my birthday presents and the very first game he bought me for both consoles were cooking game.
It was Cooking Mama. I always have great fun playing it, chopping the ingredients, mixing the ingredients together, cooking and then plating. Mama then says "even better than Mama" and gave me a perfect 100 score! This game is addictive but fun at the same time.
Yes I know my mum will always be a better cook than me... But this cooking game always has a special place in my heart as I know that I can improve my cooking over time. I can always learn to cook more diverse cuisines. That nothing is impossible for me to be a great cook later in the future.
Same as your kids, you can start encourage them to learn how to cook by playing cooking game. Learn that different vegetables requires different chopping methods. Learn that different meals will need to have different cooking methods. And there are so many learning activity they can learn from this cooking game.
I love cooking. And guess what? I also love playing video games.
